I once remember going through a stack of resumes and calling a few job candidates to conduct initial phone interviews. This was when I
previously did human resources for a prestigious car dealership. I gave one lady a call and said, "Hi, I'm calling from [XYZ] dealership, and I'd like to see if you have a few minutes to talk."

And instead of referring to the job, she asks, "Oh, did I order a car...?" She completely forgot that she had applied for a position. And it was only a few days ago that she submitted her resume to us!
